Refund Policy

Refund windows for subscriptions, books, and certifications, and how to request one. Designed to be at least as generous as the Australian Consumer Law requires, and clearer than the law alone.

1. Your statutory rights come first

Codritium operates under Australian law. Under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), you have rights that we cannot exclude, restrict, or modify. These include guarantees that goods and services we supply are of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and match their description. If a service we supply has a major failure, you may be entitled to a refund, a replacement, or compensation, regardless of what this policy says.

The terms below are in addition to those statutory rights, not in place of them.

2. Platform subscriptions

2.1 14-day satisfaction window for new terms

Each new subscription term (your first paid month, or the start of each new annual term) carries a 14-day satisfaction window. Inside that window you may request a full refund if you have completed fewer than 5 challenges in that term. Refunds outside the 14-day window or after substantial use are not available unless the Australian Consumer Law provides otherwise.

2.2 Annual prepayments

Annual prepayments are refundable in full inside the 14-day window described in §2.1. After the window closes, annual subscriptions are not prorated on cancellation, but access continues until the end of the paid term.

2.3 Cancellation

You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; we do not bill for any subsequent period after you cancel.

2.4 Account suspension

If we suspend your account for breach of the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, fees already paid are not refundable, unless the law requires otherwise.

3. Books and downloadable content

3.1 Digital books

Digital books are refundable in full for any reason within 30 days of purchase. Request a refund by emailing hello@codritium.com with the order number. After refund, your access to the digital file is revoked.

3.2 Bundles

If a digital book is purchased as part of a bundle, refunding it means refunding the bundle.

3.3 Print and physical goods

Codritium does not currently sell print books or physical goods. If this changes, we will publish a print-returns policy and update this section before any physical sales begin.

4. Certifications

4.1 Before your proctored window opens

Certification fees are refundable in full if you cancel at least 7 days before your proctored window opens.

4.2 Inside the 7-day window

Inside the 7-day window, the certification fee is non-refundable, but you may reschedule your proctored window once at no additional charge, provided the new window starts within 90 days. A second reschedule, or a reschedule beyond 90 days, will incur an administrative fee disclosed at the time of rescheduling.

4.3 During or after the proctored window

If you begin a proctored session or panel review, the fee is not refundable. If a session cannot be completed due to a technical failure on our side, we will reschedule at no charge or refund in full, at your election.

4.4 Failed credentials

A failed credential attempt is not a basis for refund. You may purchase a retake at the published retake price; we publish a single rubric and treat each attempt independently.

5. Chargebacks and disputes

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact hello@codritium.com before initiating a chargeback through your bank or card network. Most issues can be resolved more quickly directly with us. Chargebacks raised without prior contact may delay resolution and, while the dispute is open, we may suspend access to the affected purchase to prevent duplicate use.

6. How to request a refund

  1. Email hello@codritium.com from the address on your Codritium account.
  2. Include the order number or subscription ID and a brief reason.
  3. We will reply within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within a further 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

7. Currency, taxes, and fees

Refunds are issued in the currency of the original charge. GST and equivalent indirect taxes are refunded together with the underlying purchase price where the law requires. Foreign-exchange and bank fees charged by your card issuer are not refundable by Codritium; if your bank withholds a fee on refund, please raise it with them directly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes apply to purchases made on or after the new effective date; purchases made before that date are governed by the version of this policy in force at the time of purchase.
